Streetwork & Outreach Project

Streetwork and outreach services make up the majority of our work at Lifeshare. We assist those who are sleeping rough to access emergency accommodation and link people into other services (such as drug or alcohol rehabilitation) to enable them to make positive changes to their lifestyle.

More recently, our work was dedicated to providing specific outreach services to the young men who sell sex to other men in Manchester's city centre. This community - largely neglected by outreach services - pick up clients either on the streets or in certain bars in the city centre, and are often unaware of the health risks they are exposed to through this activity. This lifestyle, however, is often seen as the only option for those who have become homeless. At Lifeshare, we use our expertise and knowledge of homelessness and sexual health services to help these vulnerable young men back on their feet.
