To apply please download, print and return your application form to our office. New volunteers please download and return the form from this pack- NewVolPack2007.pdf. Alternatively, if you have volunteered on the project in recent years please download and return the form from this pack - PrevVolPack2007.pdf.
New donation method Would you like to make a financial donation to Lifeshare? If so, we have a new way you can donate - just click on the Donate Now banner on this page and use your credit card to make a secure donation to us via Charity Choice. If you are a UK tax payer and are prepared to let Charity Choice pass your name and address onto us here at Lifeshare, we can reclaim gift aid from the taxman - but if you prefer to remain anonymous we would still welcome your donation! Statement of Aims Lifeshare is a voluntary organisation established to help meet the needs of the homeless and disadvantaged in Manchester and Salford. The first point of contact is with people on the streets, offering practical assistance, support and information. From this point continued assistance is offered to enable people to secure suitable accommodation, to be supported to maintain their tenancies, and helped to access initiatives to carry their lives forward. Lifeshare
believes that all people regardless of race, creed, sexuality,
gender, age, level of ability or HIV status are entitled to respect
and dignity and should be afforded equal opportunities. Key Objectives
Current projects include:
White Goods Lifeshare can supply reconditioned electrical appliances in the Manchester area. This is a partnership between Lifeshare and Create, who provide training for the unemployed. By buying from us, you will be helping people to gain skills, employment and supporting a homeless organisation.
All units factory reconditioned and covered by six month guarantee. Volunteering/Donations - You can help! We are extremely grateful to all the schools, churches, community groups, companies and individuals who assist us in our work by providing tinned food, blankets, pans, cutlery and donations of money. The latter alone accounts for 30% of our finance. This tremendous support directly from the community is invaluable. You can donate via credit card or standing order by downloading the form, or we can send you one by mail, if you wish (please review our privacy policy, first). Without it we would not be able to continue our work. Like all charities, we rely on donations. However, we need not just food and money, but your time. Lifeshare's greatest resource is its trusty band of volunteers. If you would like to spare some of your time to help us, please review our privacy policy, then go to our volunteer opportunities page. |
